Thank you for your kind words about my rugs. The one sitting in an arm chair reading is a self portrait. Now you should be able to recognize me when I get to Australia.
I enjoy getting your newsletter. Thank you for your kind words. At Reeth, did you take the Swaledale sheep workshop...but with Heather Ritchie? I think I remember trying to speak to you but you were surrounded by a crowd. At this time, I am not sure of making it to St. John's......but I do hope we can connect at that time.
Thanks for your message. I've just recently moved to Ireland from Vancouver, British Columbia. I am originally from Nova Scotia - my grandmother was a prolific rug hooker from North Port, Nova Scotia. I remember her rugs with great fondness and hope to make some myself that may be as good. Unfortunately we do not have any of her rugs - they were created for utilitarian purposes, from utilitarian materials and they were used until no longer useful.
I don't know if I'll make it to Newfoundland next year, though I would really love to join the group.
I haven't found much in the way of rug-hooking here, but that is not very different from BC. I have found one shop, Wild Wool Way that specialises in punch needle. The lady who runs it is very nice and I've bought a few things from her already.
Hi Miriam, thank you for your kind words about my rugs. I have been hooking for 7 years. I was given a book by Deanne Fitzpatrick and enrolled in a few of her workshops, including online, when I lived in Qatar. I am originally from Nova Scotia but now live in Rickmansworth, UK. Yes, I am going to the Triennial so will see you there! Best, Nan
I thought I responded but I don't see a copy of a message so maybe I didn't.
Anyway yes I am going to Reeth and will be staying in The Buck Hotel, really looking forward to the experience. I've harked on about the Victoria conference so much my trusty travel buddy is coming along for the ride too! Yay! Are you travelling in a group?
Best wishes from an icy wintry day in Montreal, Canada.
